I don't know much about it, but I'm fairly confident it was completely ice-covered during the Pleistocene- so it's an extremely young landscape. The lake cut off to the west by the delta complex is Lake Claire, and if you look at its west-northwest shoreline, you can see what look very much like recessional shore terraces. These cold and wet areas are just plain weird to those of us from temperate climates.Lockwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05960762797349483760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5113014328355739066.post-52125902897004299062011-04-10T19:54:30.631-05:002011-04-10T19:54:30.631-05:00Amazing! And didn't I mention climate/base level changes in my post?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16066285550739882631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5113014328355739066.post-35352228838043515482011-04-09T17:49:44.139-05:002011-04-09T17:49:44.139-05:00About a year ago I posted a couple of FlashEarth i...About a year ago I posted a couple of FlashEarth images of the Peace/Athabasca River delta complex in Lake Athabasca: http://geopathology.posterous.com/other-deltas-associated-with-the-delta-upon-d<br />It's bizarre, but at least it's not nonsensical.Lockwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05960762797349483760noreply@blogger.com
